Panel Themes

The conference invited proposals for panels exploring the broad theme of Romantic Imprints — the lasting marks, traces, and influences of Romantic-era writing, thought, and culture. Panels were organised around the following thematic streams:

  • Print Culture & Material Texts

Examining the physical imprints of Romantic literature through manuscript, print, and publishing histories.

  • Ecological & Geological Imprints

Romantic engagements with landscape, nature, and the deep time of the natural world.

  • Political & Revolutionary Traces

The imprint of revolution, reform, and radical thought on Romantic-era writing and its afterlives.

  • Bodily & Affective Imprints

Pain, sympathy, sensation, and the body as sites of Romantic imprinting and expression.

  • Digital & Editorial Imprints

How digital humanities and editorial theory reshape our understanding of Romantic texts and their transmission.

  • Transnational & Imperial Imprints

Romanticism's global reach, colonial contexts, and cross-cultural exchanges.
